What is mydreampc?
mydreampc began inside a Computer Engineering course as both a personal and academic challenge. What started as a final course project became a platform for enthusiasts who want more precision when building their dream machine.
My mission is to simplify the complexity of modern hardware. Using simulation logic and a carefully maintained database, mydreampc helps you plan a setup with clearer expectations around compatibility and performance, combining engineering discipline with a passion for gaming and professional PCs.
Platform Features
- Power supply, price, and FPS calculations.
- Compatibility checks between CPU, motherboard, SSD, and RAM.
- Graphics card size checker.
- Bottleneck calculator under continuous development.
- AI-powered technical chatbot.
Who am I?
My name is Andrew, and I am a Computer Engineering student. During my eighth semester, I noticed how hard it could be to build a gaming PC from scratch to replace my old laptop: an eighth-generation Intel i5 with a 4 GB GTX 1050 that had been with me for almost a decade.
The idea came after a Computer Architecture class. While dealing with performance issues on older hardware, I also had questions about combining Intel and AMD platform components correctly.
My first parts list turned into a “Frankenstein”: I tried to combine an Intel i5 14600KF on socket LGA 1700 with an AORUS Elite motherboard on socket AM4 and DDR5 memory, a completely incompatible setup.
That is how mydreampc was born: a tool for learning hardware in practice and helping other people build computers without socket mistakes or compatibility issues.
